Transportation
The region of Bourgogne is very accessible not only by plane, but also by train and especially by road. The region is fully serviced by a number of autoroutes, back roads and cross country trails, as well as many railways.
Get in
By plane
Bourgogne has many airports, but only two are more known to frequent travelers, Dijon and Beaune. The airports take flights mainly from the rest of France, but also from some close-by European cities.
By train
From Paris’s Gare de Lyon, there are 11 TGV trains per day to Beaune, 7 to Avallon, 13 to Dijon and 12 to Auxerre. There are also trains from Lyon that go to Auxerre, Dijon and Beaune.
By car
There are 4 highways that will take you to most towns in the region: A6, A31, A36, and N6. These roads can also be used to travel around the region if you want to explore it.
Get around
The towns of Bourgogne are well connected by trains as well as roads. You’ll have no problem exploring the region by train, although if you want to visit all the wine making facilities of the region a car would be more soothing.
